splitty and junkers

this little gem parked over on Marion, is just too cute for words,

don't cha just love the completely useless pop top, what ? do you stand there naked ?
this is my next van- no doubt.

little cutie huh ? and parked on the street, nice paint and man, what a Citroen

the people who live here liken themselves to Gaudi or the Watts tower guy, with the broken pottery wall and motorcycle art and hub caps. this place has been like this forever

garage roof top- pretty cool art and creativity

and the fleet of cars and truck that have been parked here on the street, in the same spot for decades

i can't believe there driven, i've never seen them out or away, and i wonder what possess people to horde vehicles that are not vehicles any longer, these relics can't be driven, they have no functional garage, why keep them ? why not sell them ? someone would fix them up or scrap them.

maybe these street pieces exist solely to remind us of all that we have lost, all the beauty and excesses our country has burned through
or maybe, simple to give me something to do, as i aimlessly hike these streets
with out this, this make believe city hasn't much to offer- sterile and dead mostly.

grasses swallowing truck

there's something so poetic about wild grasses and blackberries consuming a vehicle, the complete abandonment of a trucks purpose and the extra added fuck you any hope of ever using the drive way again, but on the plus side, look a new huge trash can, with rear view mirrors
and this- how do even begin to destroy two cars and a two car garage-

and still have the energy to smash out the windshield and tag the hood and just plain go wild in the now useless space
on a side note, if your going to ditch the car and wreck it, why not pull up a little first, there's like eight feet in front of that shit pig

uncle A's vanagon

uncle A bought himself a van, tinted windows, fully loaded with camping/mountain gear, new fuel lines, unicycle ?

vanagay fer sure, yesterday with the two of us and both of our vans purring, i tried to back over him. then he drove us over to boat girls for a birthday party, and what ? no veggie dogs.
Dashiell had to poop and destroyed Tim's new bowl,
ate a lot of great salad, drank some tea, nibbled some cheese, ate candy.
it's really nice being a van passenger, so much leg room, love it.

my van doesn't run

well alright the first full day that the hood canal bridge is back open, Hot Mike sends me some nice photos from last year of my van, look how lonely, it sits in the baseball diamond parking lot, first beach La Push, which is now all gone-replaced with- RV camping and covered fire pit/BBQ

this is as far north as you can camp, with out being in Realto, nice dueling vans, pimped out city van vs. utilitarian camper the weather hasn't been bad enough for Hot Mike and I to build a space station, that's when two van park slider to slider and tarp off the divide to protect yourselves from the endless rains

Toby and I and Mee-mee and baby Forest, look how warm and sunny it is for a surf, love the log jam, love the life, gotta test drive the van again tomorrow. the new brain, isn't right, My guru mechanic wont call me back and the bridge is open, i can go to the beach.
i love my van, even if it has stalled a million times this week and will never replicate it's failure so i can fix it- freaking morning sickness. anyway- summer is here

a nice spot

these vanbums have picked just one of the best spots to lay up, under a big old shade tree, at a nice incline for reading in bed, across the street from a buddhist park-lovely

my local junk yard

a very nicely painted shitpig-these guys down the street have about twenty cars and trucks but only one painting
